Top motorcycle ace Paul Owen of Llangollen has just picked up his awards for competing in the annual TT Motorcycle Racing Championships held recently in the Isle of Man.

Paul rode 4 motorbikes during the event, these where a Kawasaki ZX10R, Honda 600,     Honda 250 and a Honda 125. Reaching speeds in excess of 120mph for the first time, Paul picked up a total of 6 trophies and this on his 12th visit to the races. His best position overall was 6th place.

Speed King Paul as he is known, is one of the virtual riders in a New Playstation 2 video game,                The TT Superbikes Real Road Racing Championships game was launched by Jester Interactive on the 4th of July 08 worldwide .

Singing Debut

Pete Jones of Oswestry sang in Bensons Hotel on Sunday 20th July.

Originally playing with bands, pete has recently gone on his own and this was his first gig singing country music in Llangollen. We wish him all the best


Llangollen's first Motor Cycle Show was held on August 2nd - 3rd at the International Pavilion                   Showground. The event proved to be a tremendous success with thousands of visitors attending.              

There where many stalls and of course motorbikes everywhere from Honda to BMW.                              

Taking part in the arena on Sunday where members of the Airwave FMX and Llangollen & District Motor   Cycle Club members who entertained us with their stunt riding.                                                                   

                                                       

 Inside the pavilion there where many exhibitors showing off their pride and joy of restored motorcycles.
 John Caradoc Williams of Bala was exhibiting his Greeves Hawkstone 1959 250cc motorcycle. John spent many months on the project as all the chrome parts had to be re-chromed. John said he waited several months for the wheels as they had to be sent to a company in Birmingham
